Town of Munster Indiana

George Shinkan is a proud, lifelong Munster resident. He was a small business owner and football referee for 25 years finishing his career in the NFL. He currently works as a Customer Manager with Acosta representing Proctor & Gamble.

Before being elected to Munster’s Town Council, George served as President of Eads Elementary PTO and was Treasurer and President of Munster High School’s Booster Club. He was also a past Chairman of the Munster Republican Central Committee. He is a current member of the Munster Lions Club, having held the position of Treasurer and President in the past. He is a member of the Garfield Masons and Orak Shriners where he is in the Pipe and Drum band. He also is a member and council member of The New St. George Romanian Orthodox Church.

George has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana University

George and his wife Nadene live with their two dogs Sasha and Ellie. They also have two daughters Tatiana and Alexandria. During his downtime, he can be found roasting coffee, playing his bagpipes, relaxing on the couch with his dogs, or watching sports including Indiana Basketball, Sox, Hawks, and Da Bears.
